Who we are
MoveAlbans is an independent moving-information and lead-introduction service operated by a UK sole trader through man-and-van-stalbans.co.uk. MoveAlbans is the data controller for personal information submitted through this website. It does not perform removals or enter into moving contracts with visitors.
Information we collect
A moving request can include your name, phone number, email, collection and destination locations, moving date, property or load size, requested service and details you choose to add. A moving business requesting a registration invitation provides its business name, business email and explicit invitation consent. We also process technical security data such as IP-derived rate-limit records and submission identifiers. Basic page-view analytics may be collected by our hosting provider.
How we use and share it
We use the information to process your request, prevent abuse, communicate about it and identify moving partners whose service and operating radius may suit the job. Relevant request and contact details may be shared with vetted moving partners so they can decide whether to respond and contact you about a quote. We also use contracted technical providers to host the site, securely process requests and send service-related email. We do not sell your details to unrelated third parties for their marketing.
Consent and legal basis
Before submitting, you must actively confirm that you agree to your details being used to provide removal quotes. We process the requested comparison and partner introduction with your consent and to take steps at your request. We rely on legitimate interests where necessary for site security, fraud prevention and service administration. You may withdraw consent by contacting us, although this does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
Partner registration invitations
If you request a partner-registration invitation, we use your business name and email to send that invitation through contracted technical and email providers. The invitation opens the separate full registration journey, where its own partner terms and privacy information are provided. Requesting an invitation does not approve an account. Invitation-request records may be retained for service administration, security and duplicate prevention.
Retention
Quote-request information is typically retained for up to 24 months so we can administer the request, handle queries, prevent abuse and maintain appropriate records. Information may be kept longer where reasonably required to resolve a dispute or comply with a legal obligation.
Your choices, checks and rights
You do not have to accept or book with a mover who responds. Partner vetting does not replace your own due diligence: check each responding mover’s current identity, insurance, credentials and terms before deciding which removal company to use. Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may also give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. A moving partner that receives your request may be independently responsible for how it handles your information.
